A few weeks back my good friend Kelsey flew in from Chicago to spend a long weekend with us. Unfortunately, her visit coincided with the only 7-day stretch of rainy weather we've had since moving to Oakland. We spent a lot of time eating good food and hanging out close to home, but finally the day before Kelsey left we decided to brave the weather and drive down to Santa Cruz so she could see the beach before leaving. Santa Cruz is a beach town with a boardwalk full of carnival rides and roller coasters. When we got there, everything was up and running and Clara and Evie went on one ride.
But within 10 minutes, it was so windy we could hardly stand up and it was pouring buckets of rain. Clearly Clara and Evie were not thrilled by the change in weather:
We took some photo booth pictures and ate a good meal before calling it a day and heading home.
