Family Reunion and Oaks Park

Earlier this summer my mom's side of the family hosted a family reunion at Oaks Park.  It was the perfect location for a family get together. We had a potluck in the park, then everyone went on the rides.  It was our first time taking the girls to any sort of amusement park.  They LOVED it.  So much so that we took them again this past weekend.  Clara is a true daredevil and nothing seems to scare her.  She went on the roller coaster five times on our last trip.  Evie is a bit different -- she likes the rides, but only if mama is close by.  This past visit I asked if she wanted to ride the roller coaster and she pointed her finger at me and said, "I ride roller coaster.  But you HOLD ME.  You HOLD ME."  Then afterwards she wouldn't stop talking about how it scared her, yet she asked to go again.

Here's Evie telling me about that "scary roller coaster"

After a few hours on the rides, we went down to the beach and let the girls play in the sand.
