Two days before Christmas, the girls and I drove up to Washington with my parents to visit my Grandma and Grandpa for the day. Jordan couldn't join us because he had to work (which is the norm in the days leading up to holidays - it's always the busiest time in a grocery store). My grandparents own a farm where they still raise cattle. It's a really fun place for kids, with lots of animals and lots of activity in the house. In addition to my grandparents, many other relatives and cousins live nearby, and someone is always coming over. The highlight of the day for the girls was going out to the barn to watch the cows' afternoon feeding. Experiences like this make me thankful we still live in the northwest, close to family, so my girls can share some of the experiences that I grew up with.
