Today was Clara's first day of preschool. It was a hit! This morning we woke up a little earlier than normal to be ready on time. When I opened the door to Clara's room, she immediately sat up in bed and exclaimed, "hi Mom!!" I'm pretty sure she'd been awake and ready to go for quite some time. She's also been obsessed with riding the bus to school ever since we started watching the big kids catch the bus outside our living room window last year. So one of her first questions today was, "can I ride the bus?"
Teacher Danielle (aka Aunt Danielle) told us that Clara was telling the other kids some made-up stories about how she takes naps "in the garden" with her blanket. And apparently the other kids were like, "me too!" Maybe she won't be the shy one after all. She also came home with blue hair, thanks to her love of painting. All in all, a very successful first day of school.
