About a week ago, Jordan noticed Clara looked a little cross-eyed when she was trying to focus on something. I started watching more closely and saw the same thing. So today we took a trip to the eye doctor and Clara got her first pair of glasses. Apparently she's quite farsighted just like Daddy. (In fact, when we walked into the eye exam room the doctor took one look at Jordan's glasses and said, "looking at Dad's prescription, I have a feeling I know what this is about.")
True to form, Clara loved her trip to the doctor and she exclaimed "I want these ones!" with each pair of glasses she tried on. We settled on a pretty blue-ish purple pair that she loves. It'll take about a week before they're ready and then she'll be sporting them full-time. Jordan and I were feeling a little bummed about the whole thing, but it's hard to stay sad for long when Clara says things like:
"I get to wear glasses just like Daddy! Mine are going to be purple!!"
"That doctor was really nice today. Maybe I can go back and see him again."
"Can I show my glasses to Danielle and Nate at school? They will like them!"
We're lucky to have one of the most enthusiastic and optimistic girls around.
